Lactium®: dosage

Stress is part of our daily lives and can affect our quality of life and health if it persists for too long. To address this, many solutions exist, among which Lactium® stands out for its gentle and natural approach.

Lactium® is a milk protein hydrolysate containing alpha-casozepine, a bioactive decapeptide with relaxing properties that binds to GABA receptors in the brain, thereby reducing stress symptoms.

However, to ensure optimal effectiveness, it is important to adhere to a specific dosage. This page details the recommended doses of Lactium®, the available forms, and answers your questions about potential side effects.

Recommended Dosage of Lactium®

The dosage of Lactium® may vary depending on several factors, including the intensity of stress and the individual’s age. Lactium® is suitable for all family members, with an appropriate dose.

  • Acute Stress:

This type of stress occurs during short-term, predictable events such as exams, interviews, presentations, or important appointments. This stress usually subsides once the situation is resolved and does not have long-term health impacts, unlike chronic stress.

  • Chronic Stress:

Chronic stress persists over time. It can be caused by difficult life situations, such as a negative work environment, financial or family problems, or strained interpersonal relationships. When prolonged, this stress can lead to more severe health consequences.

  • Sleep:

Stress can impact sleep, causing restlessness, nightmares, and insomnia. Sleep is essential for metabolism, weight management, immunity, and intellectual abilities. Lack of sleep makes us more irritable and negatively affects interpersonal relationships.

How to Take Lactium®?

Lactium® is a natural ingredient that is easy to formulate and is included in many dietary supplements, functional foods, and beverages. This variety caters to individual needs and preferences.

Dietary supplements containing Lactium® are most commonly available as capsules and tablets. For those with swallowing difficulties or seeking convenience, there are also liquid forms or powders that can be mixed with food.

When to Take Lactium®?

  • For acute stress: Take Lactium® 1 to 2 hours in the evening before bed and again 1 to 2 hours before the stressful event.

  • For daily stress: Take Lactium® in the morning, but avoid consuming it with coffee, as coffee reduces Lactium®’s effectiveness.

  • To improve sleep quality: Take Lactium® 1 to 2 hours before bedtime.

Lactium® has been shown to act within 90 to 120 minutes after consumption. However, the feeling of well-being generally appears after 1 to 2 weeks of supplementation, depending on the dosage.

If you forget to take Lactium® or stop taking it, its effects quickly fade. If forgotten, you can resume the regimen as usual the next day.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Lactium® does not cause side effects: no dependency, sedation, drowsiness, or memory loss. Additionally, it does not reduce attention or alertness. Unlike benzodiazepines, which are known for their side effects, Lactium® causes no addiction.

Lactium® can be used by children, pregnant women, and seniors. Furthermore, it is safe for people who are lactose intolerant as it contains less than 1% lactose. For context, individuals with severe lactose intolerance can consume 7 to 12 g of lactose per day (7,000 to 12,000 mg/day). Lactium® contains only 0.6% lactose, so a daily intake of 150 mg of Lactium® corresponds to only 0.9 mg of lactose, well below concerning levels.

Important Note: Consuming stimulants such as coffee tends to reduce the effects of Lactium®. Since caffeine affects GABA receptors, it is recommended to take Lactium® several hours after drinking coffee to ensure its effectiveness.

IN SUMMARY
